Arts-In-Education provides curriculum-based experiences to assist educators.

ARTS INTEGRATION RESIDENCIES

Curriculum-based residencies bring visiting artists and performers into the classroom at no cost to the schools. Through this program, educators meet classroom objectives by integrating arts into a multitude of academic subjects.

These engaging in-school programs provide students exposure and hands-on experience in many different disciplines including music, theater, visual arts, poetry, dance, and beyond.

STUDENT MATINEES

Page to Stage Student Matinees bring entire classes to the Honeywell Center's Ford Theater. Students are able to see live theatrical performances of children’s literature being studied in the classroom.

EDUCATIONAL EXCURSIONS

The Honeywell Foundation offers FREE field trip opportunities at the Honeywell Center, Charley Creek Gardens, Dr. Ford Historic Home, and Eagles Theatre.

VISUAL THINKING STRATEGIES

The Visual Thinking Strategies Program (VTS) is a program created by the minds at Harvard and the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art. VTS strengthens students’ critical thinking, analytical reasoning, and problem-solving abilities through facilitated discussions about works of art.

VTS is a school year commitment for grades 3-5. Currently, The Honeywell Foundation’s Visual Thinking Strategies program is active in more than 80 classrooms in Huntington, Howard, Kosciusko, Wabash, Whitley and Miami counties.

VOCAL IMPACT YOUTH CHOIRS

Vocal Impact Choirs invite Wabash County youth ages 5 to 20 to use music to impact their lives in a powerful way. Members discover and develop their singing potential, make friends, and have fun – all while learning valuable life lessons along the way.

The Vocal Impact season lasts from September through May, and includes several performances throughout the year.

VISUAL & PERFORMING ARTS

SUMMER CAMPS

The Visual & Performing Arts Program is a more intensive, multi-week summer program allowing participants to work closely with professional artists and teachers specializing in live theater or visual arts. Each program culminates with a theater performance or art exhibit showcasing the students' hard work.
