Exciting New Opportunity for Students

Here at the Honeywell Foundation, we want to build a love and understanding of the arts among people of all ages in our region. Students are a huge part of this, as they are the future stakeholders of our communities. Each year we provide nearly 50,000 arts-infused educational interactions with students, exposing them to one-of-a-kind arts and cultural experiences.

It was recently brought to our attention by students in our Visual & Performing Arts program (VPA) that they would love to come to Broadway shows, but face two barriers:

  1. Cost

  2. Someone to go with (parents either aren’t interested or can’t afford it)

This simply wouldn’t do.

Our CEO Tod Minnich was determined to come up with a solution, so with a little brainstorming among staff, a new opportunity was created!

Finding Neverland

The Honeywell Foundation now offers highly-discounted tickets for the entire Wabash Valley Music Association series (WVMA) to current 7th-12th grade students who are members of the Visual & Performing Arts theatre program. For the low cost of $12 per ticket, VPA students can attend Broadway, classical, and vocal performances such as Bandstand, The Simon & Garfunkel Story, and Finding Neverland (see the full list). Our Honeywell Foundation High School Theater Director, Jessica Keffaber, will serve as the chaperone for the students to provide a group leader and point person for the students. Jessica will make sure everyone is accounted for before, during, and after the show.

We’re thrilled to continue opening doors for arts enrichment and education.

This exciting new opportunity is made possible by the Bruce Ingraham Fund, which was created by the Honeywell Foundation Board of Directors and is supported by individual and corporate donors to provide arts opportunities and theater attendance opportunities to disadvantaged youth and their families in Wabash County and the surrounding region.
